
Bowling to Compete at Kutztown Invitational

NEW ORLEANS – No. 16 Tulane bowling resumes the 2016-17 season with its first spring competition this weekend, Jan. 20-22, at the Kutztown Invitational at Hiester Lanes in Reading, Pa.

The 28-team tournament begins Friday with Baker matches, while traditional format matches will be played on Saturday. The tournament will conclude with best 4-of-7 Baker Match bracket play to determine the final standings.

Tulane is one of 17 ranked teams competing at the Kutztown Invitational, along with No. 4 McKendree, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Fairleigh Dickinson, No. 8 Central Missouri, No. 9 Monmouth, No. 10 Maryland-Eastern Shore, No. 11 Sacred Heart, No. 12 Delaware State, No. 13 Long Island, No. 14 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 17 Franklin Pierce, No. 18 Adelphi, No. 19 St. Francis, No. 20 Norfolk State and No. 22 North Carolina A&T. In addition, Bethune Cookman, Chestnut Hill, Howard, Kutztown, Lincoln Memorial, Medaille, Morgan State, Pitt-Bradford, and Youngstown State will compete at the event.

The Green Wave was victorious in it last tournament, the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Bowling Invitational in early December, to conclude the fall portion of the schedule. The Green Wave posted an 11-2 record, 14,312 pin total, and 207.4 pin average on their way to victory.Â
