Volleyball Faces Quick Turnaround, Readies for Match Against Memphis

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane volleyball faces a quick turnaround after a weekend road trip to ECU and Cincinnati, as it plays host to Memphis, 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. Tuesday's match against Memphis was originally scheduled for 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, which was postponed because of Tropical Storm Nate.

"We came back late Sunday night, so it's a short week of preparation, but it's good for us to play so soon," head coach Jim Barnes said. "We're playing well, and the past weekend at ECU and Cincinnati showed we're making improvements that will pull us over the hurdle this week."

Last weekend on the road, the Green Wave dropped a pair of contests, losing against ECU before falling against Cincinnati. Tulane volleyball suffered a heartbreaking loss against ECU, Friday night in Greenville, NC, losing 3-2 (19-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19, 14-16), and then lost a hard-fought match against Cincinnati, Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati, Ohio, 3-1 (19-25, 26-28, 25-17, 20-25).

Memphis comes to New Orleans on the heels of a winless weekend. Memphis lost against Tulsa and SMU, 3-1 and 3-0, respectively. Last season, Tulane split its season series against Memphis, losing 3-2, in Memphis, Tenn., before winning at home, 3-0.

Tickets for the originally scheduled Memphis match will work for Tuesday's match.
