NEW ORLEANS -- Tulane volleyball begins the second half of its conference schedule this weekend, traveling northeast to face UConn and Temple. The Green Wave play UConn, 6 p.m., Friday, before heading to Philadelphia to take on Temple, 12 p.m., Sunday.
"This is a whole new season," head coach Jim Barnes said. "We've said that the second round is a whole new season. We'll take what we learned from the first round and what we learned in preseason, and make these ten matches a new season. We get to start it on the road against two good opponents, and our goal is to really go out with a refreshed and renewed spirit to get over this hurdle."
Tulane enters the weekend of play in the midst of an eight-match losing streak. Last weekend, the Green Wave dropped their slate of matches against Memphis, USF and UCF, 3-2, 3-0 and 3-1, respectively. Junior middle hitter Dayna Kern tallied 27 kills across the three matches.
The current losing streak dates back to a 3-1 defeat against Temple on Sept. 29 at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave also dropped their home match against UConn during that same weekend, falling 3-1.
Tickets for remaining home matches are still on sale. Tickets may be purchased by calling 504-861-WAVE(9283), logging onto TulaneTix.com or visiting the ticket office at the James W. Wilson Jr. Center.
