Women's Tennis Concludes Fall Season at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Tulane women's tennis team took home a trio of third place singles title and finished its fall season Saturday afternoon at the Roberta Alison Classic hosted by the University of Alabama.

Christina Sisti defeated UAB's Marlene Hermann, 1-6, 6-3 and 10-6 in the tiebreaker to finish the weekend 2-1, while Daniela La Fuente did the same with a 7-6, 2-6, 1-0(6) victory over Memphis' Laura Bente to win the third place match in her draw. Sofia Kurtz also accomplished the feat with a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(5) triumph over Mississippi State's Caroline Kelly.

Tulane did not win a doubles match on Saturday, but Kurtz and Ivone Alvaro did claim third place with a walkover win in their draw.

The Green Wave will begin the 2018 spring season with a home doubleheader against Northwestern State and the University of New Orleans on Jan. 21 at the City Park Tennis Center.
