
American Conference Names Tyler Schick September Men's Tennis Player of the Month

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane junior Tyler Schick has been named American Athletic Conference Player of the Month for September, according to an announcement by the league office on Tuesday.
Schick becomes the first Green Wave player to be named conference player of the month honor since fellow teammate Constantin Schmitz received the honor in October of 2016.
Schick defeated four combined ranked opponents at the Gators Ranked +1 on Sept. 22-24 in Gainesville, Florida. Unranked in the ITA preseason singles poll, he took down No. 67-ranked Strahinja Rakic of Mississippi State, No. 88-ranked McClain Kessler of Florida and No. 90-ranked Parker Wynn of Louisville.
In doubles action, Schick paired with sophomore teammate Luis Erlenbusch to defeat the Cardinals' duo of Wynn and Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff, who are ranked No. 29. The New Jersey native finished the weekend with a 3-1 singles record and 2-1 doubles mark.
