Jessica Duckett Breaks 60m Hurdles School Record in Final Regular Season Meet

BATON ROUGE – The Green Wave closed out the regular indoor season in style at the LSU Twilight Invitational on Friday night inside the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse, as Tulane came away with nine personal bests, 15 top-five finishes and a school record in the 60 meter hurdles. This weekend's performances put Tulane in good position for the American Athletic Conference Championships beginning Friday, Feb. 24 in Birmingham.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE LSU TWILIGHT
Sophomore Jessica Duckett posted Tulane's most notable finish of the evening, breaking her own school record in the 60m hurdles on a time of 8.46. With the lifetime best, Duckett moved into first place in the American rankings heading into the conference championship. Senior Taylor Potts also reached a milestone in the shot put with a throw of 15.44m (50-8), her farthest toss of the year, for a second-place finish.
Distance runners Emma Newton and Mikayla Sonneborn both came away with gold-medal finishes in their respective events, with Newton posting a time of 10:10.51 in the 3,000 meter and Sonneborn finishing the one mile in 5:08.72. Four additional Green Wave student-athletes would finish in second, including Potts in the shot put and Jennifer LaMori with a personal best in the one mile.

Following this weekend's regular season finale, Tulane will travel back to Birmingham for the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on February 24-25.
