Sunday, Tulane won its final traditional match against Aurora (930-812), before going 2-0 in the bracket competition, with wins over Maryville (1,003-936) and No. 24 Youngstown State (1,003-910). The Green Wave picked up a historical victory on Friday, defeating No. 2 Arkansas State, 1,085-969, to claim its first-ever win over the Red Wolves.
"Overall, I am happy with the team's dynamics and the growing performance that we have displayed so far," Tulane head coach Hayley Veitch said. "Beating a top-10 team (Arkansas State), which was the first time we had beaten them in the history of the program, was really exciting, especially as we won by a large margin. I know these ladies have the potential to be a top-10 team, and we will keep plugging away to make it happen."
On Friday, the Green Wave went 4-1 in Baker matches, including the win over Arkansas State. The Wave also topped No. 23 Valparaiso (869-854), Lincoln Memorial (896-785) and Elmhurst (981-884) on its way to a total of 4,716 pins and a 188.6 average.
