No. 36 Women’s Tennis Continues Winning Ways with 4-1 Win at UAB

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 36 Tulane women's tennis team (14-4) won its third straight and 14th overall this spring when they stormed into UAB and collected a 4-1 win on Sunday afternoon. Competing without the services of Elena Muller today, the Green Wave shuffled both its doubles and singles lineups, but it did not deter their momentum. The freshmen duo of Christina Sisti and Ivone Alvaro once again came up big for the Wave in singles, as each earned a win to help clinch.
"I am really happy with the result today against UAB," Tulane head coach Terri Sisk stated. "Our main focus today was to hit the reset button after not playing focused or disciplined tennis this past Tuesday against Southern Miss. We came out with a lot of energy and did a very nice job from start to finish. We will definitely look to build on this momentum this weekend in Texas."
Tulane moved swiftly in doubles, recording 6-0 sweeps on both courts two and three, as the duo of Sisti and Kyla Klier improved to 7-5 this spring in the process.
In singles, Sisti cruised to a 6-1, 6-1, win on court five over Taylor Factor. The freshman has now tied Muller for the most wins on the team at 11. Over on court four, Alvaro rolled to a 6-0, 6-3 win for the clinch, improving to 9-5 on the year with her second consecutive victory.
Up next, Tulane remains on the road one last time when they embark to UTSA for a March 10 showdown at 3 p.m. CT.
