
No. 28 Men’s Tennis Starts Final Homestand with 6-1 Win over Tulsa

NEW ORLEANS – The No. 28 Tulane men's tennis team (15-4) started off its big three match homestand in strong fashion on Friday evening, utilizing dominant singles play to dispatch Tulsa, 6-1. After dropping the doubles point, the Green Wave won on all six courts in singles, thus remaining unblemished at home with a 9-0 record.
"Great win for our guys today," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "In doubles we started off a little slow but I liked the way we bounced back in singles. Really shows the heart and belief this team has in themselves. We knew this match was going to be grind so happy to see how they stepped up."
Freshman Ewan Moore quickly wrapped his match on court three, defeating Jarod Hing, 6-2, 6-0. No. 22 Constantin Schmitz then earned a top-30 ranked win over No. 26 Or Ram-Harel on court one, 6-2, 4-0 (ret.).
Freshman Luis Erlenbusch reached double-digit wins tonight, now 10-6, after a 6-3, 6-2, win on court five. Next, senior Chi-Shan Jao picked up his tenth straight win to improve to 11-1 after a 6-3, 6-0, victory on court six.
Sophomore Tyler Schick battled back down 4-1 in the third set to take the match 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. Lastly, Senior Sebastian Rey, down 7-5 in a third set super tiebreak, rallied to claim the victory, 7-6, 6-7, 11-9.
Up next, the Green Wave renew its rivalry with No. 37 Rice on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
