Swimming & Diving Heads to Houston for Final Regular-Season Meet
Jan 25, 2018 | Women's Swimming and Diving
NEW ORLEANS – The Green Wave women's swimming & diving team are set to return to Houston for the second time this year on Friday, taking part in the Houston Quad Meet at the CRWC Natatorium.
Action begins on Friday at 5 p.m. and will continue on Saturday at 10 a.m. Tulane will face off against American Athletic Conference rival Houston as well as LSU and Rice.
Tulane has faced all three of those teams already this year including multiple competitions against Rice. The Green Wave swam against Houston and Rice at the Phill Hansel Invitational in November, taking third place to those two teams in the field of 10 teams. Tulane began its season with a tri-meet in Baton Rouge against LSU where it had one of its best performances ever against the Tigers.
Tulane also competed against Rice at the Dual-a-Pool-Ooza in late October, falling by a score of 133-66.
The Green Wave swimmers and divers are coming off an incredibly successful dual meet against Loyola-New Orleans. At that meet held at the Reily Center Natatorium, Tulane swept every event and defeated Loyola 155-63 for its second win over the Wolfpack this year. On Senior Night, Tulane's senior quartet of Kaitlin Simpson, Alex Brindisi, Emma Lincoln and Alex Lakota won the 200 medley relay. Simpson also won two individual events (50 free, 100 free) while Brindisi took the 100 breast title.
This weekend's meet will give Tulane a great chance to see swimmers from Houston two weeks before the AAC Championships are held at SMU. This will be the Green Wave's final regular-season meet of the year.
