Swimming & Diving Claims Scholar All-America Honors from CSCAA
Jan 29, 2018 | Women's Swimming and Diving
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane was named a Scholar All-America team for the Fall 2017 semester, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America announced on Monday morning.
Â
To qualify for the award, a team must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the semester. This semester, 688 across the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA earned this honor.
Â
"A lot of our women are ambitious in the classroom and have multiple majors, so that adds to the rigor of their studies," Coach Katie Robinson said. "It's really amazing to think that not only are they doing well in the classroom, but they're performing in the classroom while challenging themselves."
Â
Monday's award continues Tulane's tradition of earning Scholar All-America honors, a feat the team has achieved every year since Robinson became head coach in 2013.
Â
"It's nice that this has been a staple of our program," Robinson said. "Credit also should go to our academic adviser, Micahla Williams, and that whole staff for always supporting our student-athletes."
Â
The Green Wave will return to the pool in two weeks, taking on the American Athletic Conference Championships. That four-day meet begins on February 14 and continues through February 17.
