NEW ORLEANS - The regular season draws to a close for No. 16Â Tulane beach volleyball this weekend at the Palmetto Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina. The Green Wave will play conference opponents in No. 20 College of Charleston and host No. 9 South Carolina on Friday before finishing the competition against Missouri State and Coastal Carolina on Sunday.

CLOSING THE REGULAR SEASON
Tulane enters the weekend ranked No. 19 nationally in the latest AVCA poll while holding a No. 16 rank from DiG Magazine.
The Green Wave open the competition with two conference duals, playing College of Charleston at 11 a.m. before facing South Carolina at 5 p.m. Charleston is 13-6, a new program record for wins, this season and recently moved into the No. 20 spot in the AVCA poll while South Carolina is currently ranked ninth in the poll, holding a record of 16-6.
Day two of the competition starts at 9 a.m. with Tulane playing Missouri State. The competition - and regular season - comes to a close at 11 a.m. when the Green Wave play Coastal Carolina.

LAST TIME OUT
The Green Wave were rolling last week, going 6-1 with wins against ULM (twice), Houston Baptist, Central Arkansas and No. 12 Grand Canyon.
Tulane started the week with a doubleheader against ULM on Wednesday and won both duals - 5-0 and 4-1, respectively. Tulane then hosted the Green Wave Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, where it went 4-1 across the two-day competition. The Green Wave defeated HBU, UCA, UNO and No. 12 GCU, but fell 3-2 to No. 8 LSU.
Tulane beach volleyball's top duo of senior Madeline Mertz and sophomore Kaylie McHugh earned the CCSA Pair of the Week award after going 7-0 last week, winning both flights in the doubleheader against ULM before sweeping the weekend and knocking off in-state rival LSU's No. 1 pair in straight sets.
