Fourteen Track and Field Athletes Earn All-Louisiana Status

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane track and field athletes posted 14 different marks on the All-Louisiana List as announced by the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association (LSWA) on Tuesday afternoon.
Men's distance runner Emmanuel Rotich led the way with his name on the All-Louisiana list three times. His time of 29:09.24 in the 10K was the state's fastest 10K time this year, as was his 3K steeplechase mark of 8:40.66. His time of 3:49.82 was the third best in Louisiana outdoors in 2018.
Jessica Duckett also saw her name on the list twice, earning All-Louisiana recognition in the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles. Her 400 hurdles mark of 57.30 was the state's second-fastest time in 2018, and her time of 13.02 in the 100 hurdles was third-best in Louisiana.
Also making the list once were 10 other Green Wave student-athletes.
Raymond Kibet ran the fastest 400 time in the state this year, posting a 45.91 at the NCAA East Regional. Also on the men's side, the 4x100 relay team of Devin Glenn, Corey Dauphine, Jaetavian Toles and Antonius Prader earned All-Louisiana status with their run of 40.26, the third-best time in the state this year.
For the women, Bridgid Selfors had the fastest 10K time in the state, running a 36:31.36 to make the All-Louisiana team. Lauren Bartels was right behind her with a 37:23.93 in the 10K for the second-best time in the state.
Also in the distance events, Mckenzie Melius was the fastest steeplechaser in Louisiana in 2018, posting a time of 10:33.15 for the 3K steeple. Finally, Emma Newton had the third-best 5K I the state, racing to a 17:23.45 in April.
And in the field, Rebekah Markel and Kristina Leggas were recognized in the pole vault. Markel's clearance of 13-5.75 and Leggas' clearance of 12-8 put them first and second in the state this year, respectively. Jacqueline Esmay also concluded her Tulane career with a distance of 191-2 in the hammer, earning her Louisiana's third-best hammer throw in 2018.
