Tulane Women’s Golf Announces 2018-19 Schedule

NEW ORLEANS – Nine tournaments, including a trip to Mexico highlight the 2018-19 Tulane University women's golf schedule which was announced on Monday.

Under the direction of sixth-year head coach Lorne Don, the Green Wave will face another competitive schedule while playing against a number of the nation's top-ranked opponents in some of the most prestigious collegiate women's golf events in the country.

"We could not be more excited about our upcoming schedule," Don said. "I think we have a great mix of tournaments that will challenge our young women to compete at the highest level."

Tulane opens its 2018-19 slate on Sept. 15 with a trip to the USA Intercollegiate, hosted by South Alabama, at the Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Mobile, Ala. The Green Wave returns to Alabama where they will look to defend their 2017 tournament title.

The Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, hosted by North Carolina, follows on Oct. 12-14. The tournament will be held at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. and isone of the top tournaments in the country since its inception in 1976.Â

Five days later, Tulane heads to Austin, Texas where it will take part in the 45thannual Betsy Rawls Invitational. This year's 13-team field includes six teams that finished in the Golfstat Top 25 Rankings, including 2018 national champion Arizona and national runner-up Alabama.

The fall slate concludes in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where the Green Wave will compete in the Battle at the Beach tournament for the second straight season at Club Campestre San Jose.

Tulane opens spring competition at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida, on Feb. 3 where it will compete at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

On Feb. 17, Tulane will play host to its lone home tournament of the year, as it welcomes teams from around the nation to compete in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at English Turn Country Club.

"The Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate is one of our favorite tournaments of the year," Don said. "The staff at the Allstate Sugar Bowl does a fantastic job of helping us put together a first-class event. The tournament truly shows off our great city in a very positive manner and gives teams throughout the country an incredible experience."

Following the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, the Green Wave will travel to Baton Rouge on March 29-31 to take part in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic. Â

The Green Wave wraps up the regular season with the Clemson Invitational, April 7-9 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, South Carolina.

The 2019 American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship is slated for April 14-16 at the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla. The NCAA Regionals are May 6-8 and the NCAA Championship, hosted by the University of Arkansas, is May 17-22 at the Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
