NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane volleyball team readies for its first home weekend of American Athletic Conference play, hosting UCF on Friday at 12 p.m. and USF on Sunday at 1 p.m at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
The Green Wave will celebrate Education Day during Friday's match, welcoming 440 students from Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish, Fannie C. Williams Charter School and KIPP Leadership Academy.
Hosted by Deputy Athletics Director Mónica Lebrón, the students will enjoy trivia, live cameras, music, t-shirt tosses and giveaways. The students will also experience a zoo presentation on the court before the match, given by Erin Richardson from the Audubon Wetland Express.
To finish out the weekend, Tulane will host a volleyball clinic after it's match on Sunday against USF. Students in elementary school and junior high will take the court and participate in rotating stations and drills while receiving tips from members of the Green Wave team. The players also plan to autograph team posters for those who participate in the clinic following the end of the match.Â
