Tulane got the day started against Southern, earning a quick doubles point with a pair of wins on courts two and three to grab an early 1-0 lead. The second match of the day went in a similar fashion to the first, but Southeastern Louisiana gave an early fight in doubles by taking an early 3-2 advantage on courts one and two. Alegre and junior Laura Fabrizi cruised to a 6-0 win on court three, before Ivone Alvaro and Muller (No. 1 doubles) and Adelaide Lavery and Daniela La Fuente (No. 2 doubles) pushed ahead for nearly simultaneous wins to clinch the first team point.
Alegre, Alvaro and Sisti made quick work of their singles opponents to preserve Tulane's second shutout of the day.
