
Sailing to Compete in Coed Showcase Semifinal

NEW ORLEANS – Following a successful weekend on the water, the Tulane sailing team is back in action this weekend and heading to St. Mary's to compete in the Coed Showcase Semifinal Regatta.
The Green Wave will sail against 17 teams on Saturday and Sunday, including Boston College, Boston University, Christopher Newport, Dartmouth, Eckerd, George Washington, Harvard, Hobart & William, Jacksonville, Northeastern, Old Dominion, NY Maritime, St. Mary's, Stanford, Tufts, Coast Guard and Kings Point.
Tulane's A and B Division boats will sail in 18 respective races, with the top nine teams moving on to the Coed Showcase Finals on Oct. 19 and 20 at Connecticut College.
Freshman Cameron Giblin will be sailing the skipper position in the A Division races this weekend, alongside crews Katie Cartiglia and Quinn Keenan while sophomore Ciara Rodriguez-Horan will sail the B Division races with Grace Siwicki and Stephen Hahn.
The women's team – skippers Ciara Rodriguez-Horan and Caroline Benson and crews Amelia Schofield, Grace Siwicki, Kara Scully and Lydia Brown – finished ninth among 16 competitive teams in last weekend's Showcase Semifinal to earn a spot in the Women's Showcase Finals on Oct. 12 and 13 at Navy.
