NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University swimming and diving team returns to the water this week, as it travels North to Georgia Tech where six Green Wave student-athletes will compete against some of the nation's elite performers in the 2019 Toyota U.S. Open Championships.
Â
The four-day event opens on Wednesday at 6 p.m. with competition concluding on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.
Â
"I am really looking forward to seeing each of these women compete on a big stage against some of the nation's top swimmers," head coach Leah Stancil said. "This event will serve as a great indicator as to where our team stands, as we continue to work toward our goal of performing at the very best at the conference meet in February."

Johnson and Byrne highlight Tulane's list of entries, as they will both compete in four events a piece.

Both Johnson and Byrne enter the following successful performances at the Phill Hansel Invitational on Nov. 21-23.

Byrne posted a winning time in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing in 16:40.59. She also tallied a runner-up performance in the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.98).
