
Johnson Earns Second Olympic Trials Time at the Toyota U.S. Open

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University senior Olivia Johnson highlighted day two competition for the Green Wave swimming and diving team on Thursday at the 2019 Toyota U.S. Open, as she clocked her second qualifying standard for the 2020 Olympic Trials.Â

Johnson posted a mark of 2:16.99 in the 200-meter individual medley and finished 27th overall, while competing against some of the nation's top swimmers.Â
Â
Johnson also placed 42nd in the 400-meter freestyle, clocking a time of 4:19.65. Teammates Lilly Byrne and Noa Heron also competed in the 400-meter freestyle, as they finished 55th (4:22.03) and 72nd (4:23.88), respectively.Â
Â
Both Johnson and Byrne's times served as personal bests performances.

Junior Kate McDonald also posted a personal best performance in the 200-meter individual medley, as she finished in a time of 2:19.59.
