NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sophomore Kate McDonald was selected as the American Athletic Conference Female Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday by the league office.

McDonald took home her first weekly honor of the year for the Green Wave after she led the team to a 154-146 dual-meet win at SMU in the Green Wave's regular-season finale this past Friday.
Â
The Colorado native won three individual titles, including the 100 breaststroke (1:02.24), 200 breaststroke (2:14.53) and 200 IM (2:03.53). She also swam the second leg (23.71) of the first-place 200 medley relay team. Her time in the 100 breaststroke ranks fifth in the league this season.
Â
McDonald also owns a NCAA B-Cut time in the 200 breaststroke, which she recorded earlier this year.
Â
Tulane returns to action on Feb. 27 as it travels to the American Athletic Conference Championships. The four-day event will be held in Indianapolis, Ind.
