Women's Tennis Falls Short at SMU
Feb 17, 2019 | Women's Tennis
In doubles, Tulane (4-6) grabbed a 4-3 advantage at the No. 1 position, but SMU (4-3) earned breaks at No. 2 and No. 3 before pulling away to score victories on both courts and secure the first team point of the match.
The Green Wave had trouble establishing any momentum in singles play, as the Mustangs surrendered just seven games in the first set across all six courts, before closing out each court in straight sets to complete the shutout.
Tulane remains on the road with a trip to Birmingham, Ala. next weekend, beginning with a road tilt at Samford on Saturday, February 23 at noon. The Green Wave will then play at UAB on Sunday at noon.
