Men's Tennis Blanks Tulsa, 7-0
Mar 29, 2019 | Men's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane men's tennis team put together perhaps its most complete performance of the season, cruising to a 7-0 shutout win over Tulsa on Friday afternoon at the City Park Tennis Center.
The Green Wave (9-11) have now won five of their last six matches and earned their fourth shutout of the 2019 spring season.
Tulane got the afternoon started with a dominant showing in doubles, as Ewan Moore and Tyler Schick closed out a 6-3 upset win over 55th-ranked Jarod Hing and Boriss Kamdem from the No. 1 spot. Hamish Stewart and Akos Kotorman were close behind, finishing off a 6-4 victory on court two to clinch the doubles point and send the Wave into singles with a 1-0 lead.
The Green Wave's momentum did not sway even a little bit, as they captured the first set on all six singles courts. The day wouldn't get any better for the Golden Hurricane (11-10), as Tulane claimed wins in straight sets on each court.
Tulane hosts SMU on Sunday, March 31 for Senior Day. A pre-match ceremony will take place at 12:45 p.m., before first serve at 1 p.m.
