Gibson Posts Strong Opening Round at LSU Tiger Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. – Junior Haydyn Gibson highlighted opening round competition for the Tulane University women's golf team on Friday, as she finished the day tied for ninth.Â
Â
Gibson closed day one competition with a score of one-over-par, 73. She began the day with bogeys on three of the first four holes, but would respond in a big way, as she carded par or birdie on the next nine holes.Â
Â
During the final five holes, Gibson recorded one bogey and one birdie to finish the back nine one-under-par.Â
Â
As a team, Tulane finished the day in 10th-place with a score of 319.Â
Â
Sophomore Jennifer Rosenberg (tied for 45th, 81), senior Laura Munoz (tied for 49th, 82), freshman Isabella Cardenas (tied for 52nd , 83) and junior Gabrielle Correia (tied for 55th, 84) rounded out the Tulane lineup.

Campbell leads all teams after it posted a score of 291. Campbell's Emily Hawkins and TCU's Sabrina Iqbal are tied for the lead after both shot rounds of 69. Â
