NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane beach volleyball team (3-6, 0-4 CCSA) is heading to Mississippi for a midweek matchup this Tuesday, competing in a double header against conference opponent Southern Mississippi in the Mardi Gras Challenge.
The Green Wave will face the Golden Eagles at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Coming off a 1-3 weekend in the Horned Frog Challenge, in which Tulane defeated Missouri State, the team stays on the road and readies for a quick turnaround in the dual competition against Southern Miss.
Juniors Kaylie McHugh and Eva Torruella shined in the No. 1 position this past weekend, going 4-0 in the tournament to take down No. 19 Grand Canyon, TCU, No. 16 Georgia State and Missouri State.
This matchup marks the first ever meeting between Tulane and Southern Miss, as the Golden Eagles head into their inaugural 2019 season with a 2-5 record.Â
Tulane's match will serve as Southern Mississippi's first home competition in program history.Â
