Sailing to Host Garner-Tullis Team Race Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane sailing team is back in action this weekend, hosting the Garner-Tullis Team Race on Saturday at 10 a.m. out of the Municipal Yacht Harbor on Lake Pontchartrain.
The Green Wave are set to host four teams in the regatta, including, University of North Texas, Loyola University, University of Colorado at Boulder and University of Texas. All teams are members of the South Eastern Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SEISA) Conference.
Both Tulane and Texas will send two teams to participate in the competition, totaling seven teams on the water.
Each of Tulane's teams will send three boats to compete against three boats from an opposing team in each of the seven flights, participating in 24 total races in rounds one and two, weather depending.
The top four teams will then conclude the day by competing against one another in three flights in the third round of action.
Tulane had a successful performance in its last time out on the water, earning a fifth-place finish among ten of some of the nation's top teams in the Charleston Women's Regatta. The Green Wave's top pair in freshman Ciara Rodriguez-Horan and senior Grace Bloomfield earned an impressive third place standing, recording eight top-five finishes on the day.
