Tulane Women’s Golf Opens Play at the Clemson Invitational

ROUND ONE RESULTS | ROUND TWO PAIRINGS
SUNSET, S.C.– The Tulane University women's golf team is tied for 14th place after one round of play at the 2019 Clemson Invitational. The Green Wave opened the tournament with a score of 293 on Sunday.
Tulane's first round score of 293 was its third-lowest performance of the spring season.
Senior Laura Munoz led all Green Wave individuals, as she carded a tally of even par, 72. Munoz was consistent throughout the day, posting 14 pars, two birdies and two bogeys en route to tying her lowest round of the spring.
Fellow senior Sofia Goicoechea and junior Gabrielle Correia were the next Tulane finishers, as they both posted rounds of 73 and are tied for 38th.
"We had some really solid rounds from Laura, Sofia and Gabby today and I'm excited to see how they can come out and compete tomorrow," head coach Lorne Don said.
Rounding out the Tulane lineup were junior Haydyn Gibson (tied for 67th, 75) and sophomore Jennifer Rosenberg (tied for 67th, 75).
Tulane returns to action tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. (CT) with a shotgun start.
The three-day tournament is being held at The Reserve at Lake Keowee (par 72, 6260-yards).
Auburn and Vanderbilt are tied for the team lead with both teams shooting rounds of 278. Auburn's Julie McCarthy sits on top of the leaderboard after she fired a score of 66.
