Women’s Tennis Tops Charleston Southern, 6-1
Apr 7, 2019 | Women's Tennis
The Green Wave (10-12) got off to a hot start in doubles, as Adelaide Lavery and Christina Sisti cruised to a 6-1 win on court three. Despite holding a 5-4 edge on court one, the Wave clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory by Daniela La Fuente and Laura Fabrizi on court two.
Holding a 1-0 edge going into singles, Elena Muller doubled Tulane's lead by topping Liz Williams, 7-5, 6-2, on court one. The Buccaneers (8-9) cut their deficit in half, 2-1, with a straight-set win on court five.
That would be the only blemish on an otherwise perfect performance by the Green Wave, as Ivone Alvaro notched a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Filippa Ericson on court three. Fabrizi was next to win in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6, over Michelle Schmitz on court four to clinch the match.
Tulane tacked on two more points, as Lavery finished off a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win on court six, before La Fuente completed a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 comeback to defeat Madalina Man.
Tulane turns right around to play at College of Charleston on Monday, April 8. First serve is set for noon (CT).
