NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane cross country team is headed to LSU this weekend for its third meet of the season, competing on Friday in the LSU Cross Country Invitational.
The women will get things started with the 5K at 5 p.m., with the men also running the 5K shortly after at 5:40 p.m. at Highland Road Community Park.
Tulane is set to compete against host LSU, Nicholls State, Southern and Southeastern Louisiana.
Tulane has been off to a successful start in 2019, with the men's team earning consecutive one-two-three finishes to take second place in the first two meets and the women's team winning the UNO Cross Country Opener while coming in second in the Nicholls Cross Country Invitational.
Sophomore Evans Kipchumba and redshirt senior McKenzie Melius both finished first overall in each of this season's races.
This weekend marks the second time Tulane will see LSU, Nicholls and Southern, with the Green wave defeating the Colonels and the Jaguars and falling only to the Tigers in last weekend's races.
