
Swimming & Diving Announces 2021 Signing Class

Anna Behrman of Kennesaw, Georgia, Reese Dunkenberger of Ellison, Virginia, Avery Francis of Helotes, Texas, Sam Krew of Scottsdale, Arizona and Eleanor McMeen of LaGrange, Illinois are all set to join the Olive and Blue roster next season.
"This class has had such a unique recruiting experience and their resilience and ability to pivot has been evident during this year's recruiting process," Stancil said. "Nevertheless, the new normal has not taken away from the fact that I am looking forward to working with them. They will be a great addition to our team."

Behrman joins the Green Wave from Kennesaw, Georgia, where she spent four years competing for Harrison High School's diving team. The New Orleans newcomer was named the Hoya's team captain for the 2020-21 season and was also named the female diver of the year for the 2017-18 and 2019-20 seasons. Behrman also competed for the Atlanta Diving Academy. At Tulane, Behrman plans to major in biology with hopes of pursuing a career in public health or in the medical field.

Dunkenberger makes her way to Tulane from Glenvar High School in Elliston, Virginia, where she spent four years on the varsity swimming and diving team. The incoming Green Wave earned all-state honors and was named her team's MVP in 2018, 2019 and 2020 before being named captain in 2021. As a junior, Dunkenberger helped her team to a first-place league finish with a 27-6 record and also a state championship win. In her four years at Glenvar, Dunkenberger became the school record holder in the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, also breaking the school and state records in the 100-yard freestyle. A two-time Region C team champion, six-time Region C individual champion and a two-time Class 2A state champion, Dunkenberger heads Uptown following a decorated high school career. The incoming freshman was also a 2019 VHSL Region 2 team state champion, a two-time state runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke and a state runner-up in the 400-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relays. Dunkenberger's major at Tulane is currently undecided, though she plans to pursue a career in healthcare and research.

Francis heads to NOLA from Helotes, Texas, where she is currently a senior at Brandeis High School and a four-year letterwinner on the diving team. The incoming Green Wave has qualified for the regional team in all four years with the Broncos and is still competing with hopes of making states this season. As a team captain this year, Francis' current one-meter diving record is 433. Francis also competes at the club level for AAAD, where she is the team captain and has made three nationals appearances. At Tulane, Francis plans to pursue a pre-med/bio-chemistry degree, with hopes of becoming a plastic surgeon.

Krew joins the Green Wave roster from Scottsdale, Arizona, where she spent four years on Chaparral High School's swimming and diving team. A district champion in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly events, Krew was named team captain in her final season with the Firebirds. A 6-0 record in Krew's senior year solidified an undefeated high school career for the New Orleans newcomer as her team went 42-0 in four years, winning the national championship in 2018. Helping lead her team to league and state championships, Krew finished her senior year as the 100-yard freestyle district champion and the 200-yard freestyle state runner-up, also helping her 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams to championships. Krew holds the state records in both the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays and was also named an NISCA All-American. At Tulane, Krew is set to major in neuroscience with hopes of becoming a doctor.

McMeen comes to New Orleans from LaGrange, Illinois, where she was a four-year letterwinner on Lyons Township High School's swimming and diving team. In 2019-20, the Green Wave newcomer earned All-American honors in the 200-yard medley relay for the second time in her career, the 200-yard freestyle relay for the third time in her career and the 400-yard freestyle relay for the first time in her career, ultimately being named team captain in 2020-21. McMeen helped her 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams to break school records, also leading the Lions to a fourth place finish at states in 2019. In that year, her 200-yard medley relay team finished sixth, her 200-yard freestyle relay team finished fourth and her 400-yard freestyle relay team finished fifth. McMeen also swam club for the Hinsdale Swim Club. At Tulane, McMeen intends to major in finance in the A.B. Freeman School of Business.
The Tulane swimming team is back in action this weekend as the Green Wave head to Rice for a dual meet on Friday and Saturday.
