
Jordan Earns Second Straight AAC Freshman of the Week Award

NEW ORLEANS - For the second straight week, Jerkaila Jordan was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week.
Last week, Jordan continued the successful start of her career with a season-high 20 points in the win at South Alabama. She also logged five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals against the Jaguars. Jordan went 4-4 from the free throw line, including two free throws to seal the game for the Green Wave in Mobile, Ala. The New Orleans native led the team again with 18 points at Georgia Tech. She added six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal against the Yellow Jackets.
Jordan currently ranks in the top 10 in the American Athletic Conference in scoring (18.3), rebounding (6.7), field goal percentage (.426), free throw percentage (.923) and blocked shots (1.3). She is sixth among freshman in the NCAA in scoring at 18.3 points per game.
The Green Wave will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 9, as they travel to play Middle Tennessee State. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
