Women's Tennis Hosts UAB Sunday

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team returns home to host UAB on Sunday, February 1. First serve is scheduled for noon at the City Park Tennis Center as part of a head-to-head doubleheader with the Green Wave's men's team against Virginia Tech.

LAST TIME OUT
Tulane (4-1) suffered its first defeat of the 2020 spring season, 6-1, at LSU on Friday evening. Freshman Mackenzie Clark recorded the Wave's lone point, securing a three-set, upset win over the nation's No. 42 player at the No. 1 spot in the singles lineup.

The Blazers (2-3) enter Sunday's match with losses in three of their last four, including a 4-1 setback at South Alabama on Saturday. Jana Hecking leads UAB with a 3-1 singles record this spring.
RANKED SINGLES WINS
Tulane junior Lauren Gish and freshmen Mackenzie Clark and Lahari Yelamanchili have all secured singles wins over ranked opponents in their first season with the Green Wave. Most recently, Clark upset 42nd-ranked Taylor Bridges at LSU on Jan. 31, after Gish defeated No. 116 Cameron Corse from Notre Dame and Yelamanchili outlasted No. 18 Eden Richardson of LSU during the fall season.
