Volleyball Releases Spring Competition Dates
Feb 7, 2020 | Women's Volleyball
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Coming off of a second consecutive postseason appearance, the Tulane volleyball team has announced its spring competition schedule that will see the team play a pair of tournaments at home and one date on the road between now and the end of March.
Â
After winning 20 or more games for the second straight season, Tulane will have all but one of its players that will comprise the 2020 roster on campus for the spring semester, giving the team an early start on preparations for the regular season which will begin sometime next August.
Â
With two freshmen coming in early we have 17 of our 18 players here this spring. This will be a huge advantage as we prepare for the 2020 fall season," head coach Jim Barnes said. "We have the talent to win the American Athletic Conference. This spring will be critical in developing into a championship team."
Â
The Green Wave will open the spring on Saturday, February 8 hosting the New Orleans Privateers and the Southeastern Louisiana Lions with matches set for 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Hertz Center.
Â
On March 7, Tulane moves to its traditional home of Fogelman in Devlin as the squad will host matches against the LSU Tigers and Florida State Seminoles.
Â
The team will close out its spring set of competitions by heading to Hoover, Alabama, to take part in a tournament featuring 10 other teams such as Alabama, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and others on March 28.
Â
All home scrimmages are open to the public and free of charge.
