SENIOR DAY: Tulane Honors Track and Field's Maya Harewood
Mar 28, 2020 | Track & Field
EDITOR'S NOTE: Over the next few months, TulaneGreenWave.com will honor the 35 seniors that had their respective collegiate careers cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic through this SENIOR DAY series. We hope you the fans enjoy this series and remember the seniors from the 2020 graduating class.
After arriving in New Orleans from her hometown of Bothell, Washington in the fall of 2016, Maya Harewood made an immediate impact on the Tulane track and field team. During her four years with the Green Wave, Harewood has placed eight times in the American Athletic Conference Indoor and Outdoor Championships, most notably placing second and third in the 400-meter dash in the 2018 and 2019 outdoor seasons. The senior has left her mark on the program, owing four top 10 spots in the school's record books (10th/60-meter, 5th/200-meter, 7th/400-meter, 7th/4x400).
Today, we honor Harewood in our SENIOR DAY web series.
Q AND A WITH MAYA HAREWOOD
What made you want to come to Tulane?

What is your favorite memory from your time at Tulane?
"I would say that all of my favorite memories come from track meets. I loved the energy that each person had as we cheered on our teammates and the bus rides home after a good meet were always fun."
What's next?
"My plans for next year are a little up in the air right now. Before this all happened, I had planned on working and completing my pre-requisite classes for PT school."
