
Sailing Heads Back to Charleston for Spring Coed Regatta

NEW ORLEANS — The No. 20 Tulane sailing team is headed back to Charleston, South Carolina this weekend to race in the Charleston Spring Coed Regatta on Saturday and Sunday.
The Green Wave will face host No. 9 College of Charleston, Florida State, Jacksonville, North Carolina State, Ohio, Old Dominion, No. 10 Coast Guard, Berkeley, Maryland, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech and Washington College.
Tulane, Charleston, Old Dominion and Wisconsin will each send a women's and coed team to compete this weekend, while all other schools will send one. Each A and B Division boat will sail in 18 respective races over the course of the two-day competition, weather permitting.Â
Caroline Benson and Caelan Watts will be skippering the coed boats this weekend, alongside crews Quinn Keenan and Kate Lenhard. Skipper Ciara Rodriguez-Horan will sail alongside crew Amelia Schofield in the women's races, along with skipper Katherine Byrnes and crew Josie Larkin.
In their last time out on the water, the Olive and Blue finished eighth of 10 in a competitive fleet in the Bob Bavier Team Race. Tulane won five races to beat Eckerd and South Florida, falling to five teams that were ranked in the nation's top 10.
