EDITOR'S NOTE: Over the next few months, TulaneGreenWave.com will honor the 35 seniors that had their respective collegiate careers cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic through this SENIOR DAY series. We hope you the fans enjoy this series and remember the seniors from the 2020 graduating class.
In three seasons with the Green Wave, Skyler Guillot totaled seven top 10 finishes in the javelin throw, finishing second in the Jim Bush/Bob Larsen Invitational (2018), the Brutus Hamilton Invitational (2018) and the Southern Miss Open (2019). The New Orleans, Louisiana native holds the eighth-best spot in program history with a career-best mark of 41.27 meters.
Today, we honor Guillot in our SENIOR DAY web series.
Q AND A WITH SKYLER GUILLOT
What made you want to come to Tulane?
“Tulane had everything that I needed in an undergraduate institution. It’s a great school academically, its campus is beautiful, the city has an unmatched character and the athletic department is getting more fierce by the year. So after my first visit to the campus, I was completely sold.”
What is your favorite memory from your time at Tulane?
“My favorite memory from my time at Tulane was a track meet at UC Berkley. It was one of the first times I had traveled that far from home, and my entire team cheered me on to a new personal best after a season-ending injury the previous year. It was a feeling that I will never forget.”
What's next?
“Next year, I will be heading to the University of North Texas to continue my education in their Clinical Psychology doctoral program and to finish out my eligibility as a javelin thrower for their track team.”
