Cross Country to Heads to the Lone Star State for the Arturo Barrios Invitational

NEW ORLEANS– The Tulane University cross country team will travel to SEC country this weekend to compete in the Texas A&M Cross Country: Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, TX.
The Tulane men's team will begin the invitational with an 8-kilometer run at 9 a.m. followed by the women's team racing on a 6-kilometer course at 9:45 a.m. The Green Wave will be one of 36 teams in the men's division and one of 38 on the women's side. Eleven women's teams and 10 men's teams rank in the top-15 of the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association South Central regional rankings.
The team last saw competition two weeks ago at the Nicholls XC Invitational in Thibodaux, Louisiana where both the men's and women's teams took home the team titles. That marked the first time both teams won in the same event since the inaugural Nicholls XC Invitational in 2018.
Senior Therese Olshanski led the way for the women's team, as she finished second overall with a time of 19:30.92. Tulane's next finisher was junior Laura Croll, who followed right behind with a time of 18:52.23 to grab third overall.
On the men's side, junior Evans Kipchumba led the way for the Green Wave, as he finished second overall with a time of 20:59.26. Meanwhile, teammates Tucker Poshard placed third (21:24.16) and Bethwell Tum placed eighth (22:30.76).

9:45 a.m. - College Women's 6K
After Saturday, Tulane will have its next meet on October 29 in Tampa, Florida at the American Athletic Conference Championship.
