
Women’s Golf Finishes First Day of Play at Lake Oconee Invitational

GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Tulane University women's golf team finished the first day of play at the Lake Oconee Invitational in 12th with a total score of 312.
Senior Jennifer Rosenberg and sophomore Carlota Palacios led the team as they both posted rounds of 2-over 74.
The Green Wave teed off from the 10th tee and Palacios logged a 2-under 34 on her first nine. She birdied the par-4 12th hole and the par-5 18th hole. The sophomore logged her third birdie of the round on the par-5 sixth hole.
Rosenberg also notched birdies on the par-5 12th hole and the 18th hole. She had her third birdie of her round on the par-5 second hole. Rosenberg and Palacios currently sit tied for 11th.
Junior Isabella Cardenas will head to the second round tied for 61st. She posted one birdie on the round. Sophomore Sandra Vazquez and freshman Miriam Emmert round out Tulane's lineup tied for 71st. Vazquez recorded one birdie on the round. Emmert was 2-over 38 on the front nine this morning.
Tournament host Mercer leads all teams at 9-over 297. Old Dominion closed the first round in second with a total score of 10-over 298. Mercer's Payton Schanen finished the first round in first place individually with a score of 2-under 70.
Play will continue tomorrow at 7 a.m. CT with teams teeing off from the first and tenth tees.
