
No. 20 Beach Volleyball Travels to Gulf Shores for The March to May

NEW ORLEANS — The No. 20 Tulane beach volleyball team (7-1, 2-1 CCSA) heads on its first road trip of the season this weekend, traveling to Gulf Shores, Alabama to compete in the March to May on Saturday and Sunday.
The Green Wave will face four conference opponents this weekend, matching up against host UAB at 9 a.m., No. 10 TCU at 1 p.m. and No. 11 Grand Canyon at 3 p.m. on Saturday before facing No. 3 LSU at 8 a.m. and No. 18 Georgia State at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The Olive and Blue own a 7-1 record to start the 2021 season, recording sweeps over New Orleans, Utah, Southeastern Louisiana, Texas A&M Kingsville and Spring Hill College while earning 4-1 wins over UAB and Louisiana Monroe. Tulane's only loss this season was to No. 2 Florida State, with the Seminoles taking the match 5-0.
UAB is 5-3 so far this season, most recently defeating Southern Miss (4-1) and Central Arkansas (5-0) and falling to No. 14 FIU (1-4) and No. 11 TCU to go 2-2 in the Horned Frog Challenge. The Green Wave moved to 13-5 in their career against the Blazers, defeating them earlier this season at home in the Green Wave Invitational.
Owning a 7-1 record in 2021, TCU has recorded wins over four ranked opponents this season, with the team's only loss coming to No. 11 Stetson with a 2-3 score. Tulane holds a 4-2 career record against TCU, falling to the Horned Frogs (1-4) to start 2019 before defeating them, 3-2, to wrap up the season in the FIU Surf 'N Turf.
GCU is 4-1 this year, falling to No. 17 Arizona (2-3) to start the season before taking down No. 20 Arizona State (4-1) and sweeping Colorado MESA, Park (AZ) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Tulane is 1-1 against Grand Canyon, defeating the Lopes (3-2) in 2018 before falling to them (2-3) in 2019.
LSU heads into this weekend's tournament with a 7-1 record, earning wins over two ranked opponents while only falling to No. 2 Florida State in a 1-4 battle last weekend. The Green Wave are 4-9 in their career against the Tigers, last falling 0-5 to them in the 2020 Tiger Beach Challenge.
Georgia State is 7-4 in 2021, most recently recording a 3-2 win over Coastal Carolina before sweeping Tennessee at Chattanooga and Mercer on Wednesday. Tulane is 2-8 against the Panthers, last meeting them in the 2019 CCSA Championship, falling 1-4.
