Women's Falls at Home to Houston, 4-1

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's tennis team had its eight-match home winning streak snapped in a 4-1 setback against American Athletic Conference foe Houston on Friday afternoon at the City Park Tennis Center.
The Green Wave (9-6) received some early momentum in doubles, as 54th-ranked Mackenzie Clark and Mary Caroline Meredith collected a 6-1 win on court one. Unfortunately for the Wave, the Cougars (9-3) battled their way to a pair of wins on courts two and three, respectively, to claim a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
Tulane drew even with Houston, 1-1, when sophomore Lahari Yelamanchili closed out a dominant, 6-4, 6-2, win over Gabriela Giraldo on court four. The Cougars would counter with three straight victories however, earning a straight-set win on court three before earning a pair of three-set wins on courts five and six to clinch the match.
The Green Wave make a quick turnaround to host No. 34 Rice on Saturday, March 20. First serves are scheduled for noon.
