NEW ORLEANS — Tulane volleyball's freshman middle hitter Anna Davis has been named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
In two matches at USF, Davis totaled 18 kills while hitting a conference-leading .567. In the Green Wave's four-set win over the Bulls on Saturday, the Castle Rock, Colorado, native recorded a career-high 15 kills on 18 attacks with zero errors, hitting .833 -- the second-best attack percentage in program history.
Davis also led the Green Wave with eight total blocks in two matches at USF, averaging 1.33 blocks per set in the road weekend. The freshman totaled a career-high seven blocks in Tulane's win over the Bulls on Saturday.
This honor marks Davis' first in her career, and also the first for Tulane volleyball since outside hitter Sarah Ray was named Offensive Player of the Week in 2016.
The Green Wave are set to head to Tulsa, Oklahoma, this weekend in the team's final weekend of regular season action, looking to secure a spot in the AAC tournament while competing against the Golden Hurricane on Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.
