Vazquez Helps Golf Move Up In Second Round of AAC Championship

PINEHURST, N.C. – The Tulane University golf team moved up to seventh after the second round of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Monday, April 19.
As a team, the Green Wave shot 304 on the day. Tulane trails fifth-place South Florida by just six strokes headed into Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Sandra Vazquez led the way for the Green Wave with a second-round score of 1-over 73. She paired that with a first round 3-over 75 close the day tied for seventh at 4-over 148. She eagled the par-4 eighth hole and logged two birdies on the back nine in today's second round.
Senior Jennifer Rosenberg shot 2-over 74 in the second round to finish the day tied for 14th with a total score of 6-over 150. She opened the round with 12 straight pars and knocked in a birdie on the par-3 16th hole.
Sophomore Hanna Liu logged a 6-over 78 in the second round. She registered three birdies on the day and will head to the final round in 36th.
Freshman Daozeng "Cleo" Liu will begin the final round tied for 25th at 10-over 154. Sophomore Carlota Palacios finished the day tied for 47th. Palacios recorded two birdies in the second round.
Tulsa and No. 31 UCF lead all teams at 18-over 594. East Carolina's Dorthea Forbrigd leads the field individually at 1-under 143, while South Florida's Melanie Green closed the day in second at 1-over 145.
