
Beach Volleyball Heads to Fort Worth for TCU Invitational

NEW ORLEANS — The RV Tulane beach volleyball team (16-10, 5-8 CCSA) is headed to Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend to compete in the TCU Invitational.
The Green Wave will face Houston Baptist at 10:10 a.m. and host No. T7 TCU at 2:30 p.m. on Friday before competing against Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 8 a.m. and Boise State at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday.

The Olive and Blue were successful in the team's last time out, going 4-0 in the Southern Miss Beach Invitational. Tulane defeated Spring Hill College (5-0), UAB (3-2), Louisiana Monroe (4-1) and Southern Miss (4-1).
Leading the way for the Green Wave this season is senior Addison Hermstad and sophomore Samantha Mehlman, who are now 22-4 in 2021 after going 6-0 from the No. 2 spot and 16-4 at the No. 3 position.
Houston Baptist heads to Fort Worth with a 4-16 overall record, going 1-3 last weekend to defeat Utah (5-0), while falling to Stephen F. Austin (2-3), Texas A&M Kingsville (0-5) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (1-4). The Green Wave own an undefeated 10-0 record against the Huskies, last beating them 4-1 earlier this season at home in the NOLA Classic.
Putting together an impressive 17-4 record this season is TCU, who went 3-1 in the team's last time out to defeat No. 15 South Carolina (4-1), No. 17 Georgia State (3-2) and No. 16 Stetson (3-2) while falling No. 2 Florida State (1-4). The Olive and Blue are 4-3 all-time against the Horned Frogs, falling to them in a close 2-3 battle earlier this season in The March to May.
Texas A&M Corpus Christi is 10-9 this spring, earning wins over SFA (5-0), Utah (5-0), Houston Baptist (4-1) and Texas A&M Kingsville (4-1) to go 4-0 in its last weekend in action. Tulane is 2-1 against TAMUCC, sweeping the Islanders earlier this season in the NOLA Classic.
Earning a 4-5 record so far this season is Boise State, going 1-2 in the team's last time out to defeat Cal State Northridge (5-0) before dropping matches to No. 15 Arizona (1-4) and No. 5 Cal Poly (0-5). The Green Wave defeated the Broncos, 4-1, in their sole meeting in 2018.
