Volleyball Drops Sunday's Match to Temple

NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane University volleyball team (8-15 overall, 3-9 American Athletic Conference) dropped a five-set match to Temple (22-25, 25-22, 25-22 19-25 10-15) on Sunday.
The Green Wave offense hit .222 in the match, while the Owls (9-14, 3-9) countered with a .321 clip. Outside hitter Melissa Kolurbasi led the Wave with 16 kills and hitting .265 overall. The graduate student also landed four digs, totaling 18.5 points.

Libero Jillian Dits controlled the defensive duties with 21 digs, one reception and two assists. Senior setter Kate Van Houten tallied 45 assists and nine digs.

The Green Wave posted 56 kills, 48 assists, 5 aces, 75 digs, 7 blocks and a 42.2% passing rate.

The Green Wave will hit the road on Wednesday to take on the conference front-runner, Houston. First serve versus the Cougars is set for 6 p.m. at the Fertita Center in Houston Texas.
