Tulane Drops Match to No. 23 Houston

NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane University volleyball team (8-16 overall, 3-10 American Athletic Conference) dropped a three-set match to Houston (15-25, 23-25, 21-25) on the road on Wednesday.
The Green Wave offense hit .131 in the match, while the Cougars (10-10, 3-5) countered with a .282 clip. Outside hitter Ceren Aki led the Wave with 8 kills and hitting .278 overall. The freshman also landed two digs, totaling 10 points.
Libero Jillian Dits controlled the defensive duties with 2 digs, one reception, and three assists. Senior setter Kate Van Houten tallied 23 assists and six digs.
The Green Wave posted 28 kills, 27 assists, three aces, 44 digs, five blocks, and a 40% passing rate.
The Green Wave head to Cincinnati on Sunday to take on the Bearcats. First serve versus the Cincinnati is set for 12 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena.
