Tulane Drops Four-Set Battle at Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, OHIO — The Tulane University volleyball team (8-17) dropped to 3-11 in American Athletic Conference play after a four-set loss (12-25, 25-20, 21-25, 18-25) at Cincinnati.
The Bearcats improved to 7-17 overall and 5-9 in conference.
The Green Wave offense hit .205 in the match and held the Bearcats to a .311 attack percentage. Outside hitter Mackenzie Martin led the Wave with 14 kills, hitting .303 overall. Martin also claimed a total of 14.5 points.
Fellow outside hitter Melissa Kolurbasi also got in her fair share of kills with 7 and a .150 hitting percentage. Kolurbasi also claimed one solo block.
Libero Jillian Dits carried the defensive duties with 15 digs and three assists. Senior setter Katherine Crosley moved the ball well, tallying 30 assists, five kills, and five digs.
The Green Wave dropped the match posting 47 kills, 43 assists, two aces, 53 digs, seven blocks, and a 35.1% passing rate.
Tulane will be back in action next weekend when it hits the road to face Wichita State. The match is set for 7 p.m. central time.
