
No. 17 Bowling Finishes Second At The Rattler Classic

Pensacola, Fla. – The No. 17 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling ended up finishing in second place at the Rattler Classic in their first action of the 2022-23 season.
The program started the day falling to Emmanuel College 4-2 in the first baker set of the day. Tulane won the fourth game 209-167 and the fifth game 186-151, but fell in the first (191-165), the second (224-210), the third (203-165) and in the sixth (204-169).
The team then defeated Jackson State University 4-2 in the second round to advance to the position round and the championship game. The scores for the victory over JSU include wins in the third game (171-167), the fourth game (200-179), the fifth game (160-150) and the sixth game (177-162). The program fell in the first two games against Jackson State (171-160 and 203-184).
In the position round / championship game against Emmanuel College, Tulane lost 4-2 to end up taking home second place. The Green Wave won the third game (152-141) and the fourth game (212-207). Emmanuel earned victories in the first game (183-165), the second game (178-169), the fifth game (225-199) and the sixth game (197-188).
Following the end of the tournament, Amelia Vasquez was named to the Rattler Classic All-Tournament by finishing in the top five overall. She was the overall leader at the tournament in total pins with 1065.
Tulane now returns home to host the Colonial Lanes Classic from Oct. 14-16. The first day of action at Colonial Lanes begins with the 5x5 baker game matches at 9:45 a.m. The second day on Oct. 15 is the traditional five-team games beginning at 8:55 a.m. The third and final day of the tournament is the three best four-of-seven baker matches at 8:30 a.m.
