
Volleyball Closes the 2022 Season With A Sweep Over South Florida

NEW ORLEANS, La. – On a day we said when six seniors, Jillian Dits, Kayla Kaiser, Melissa Kolurbasi, Lizzy Stefanov and Kate Van Houten, played their final match, the Tulane Green Wave volleyball team closed the 2022 schedule on Friday with a sweep win over South Florida 25-23, 29-27, 25-15, inside the Yuengling Center.

After taking the opening set Tulane had to fend off a hungry South Florida team for a win in the final two to secure the victory. Tulane produced 43 kills on 35 assists, while having 36 digs and six blocks as a group to defeat to Bulls.
Melissa Kolurbasi led the team with 12 kills and hit .440 for the match. Mackenzie Martin also bagged 12 kills grabbed two digs and a block. Kayla Kaiser had nine kills and a four-spot in both blocks and aces.

Setter Katherine Crosley backed the offense with 31 assists and also added seven digs.Â

The dark jersey was in the hands of sophomore Jillian Dits. The seasoned libero finished the day with 10 digs, one kill and a pair of aces.Â

The Green Wave dropped the match, posting 43 kills, 35 assists, 36 digs, six blocks, and a 53.4% passing rate.
