Tulane Swimming and Diving Finishes Third in AAC Championships

DALLAS – Tulane Swimming and Diving finished third in the AAC Championships on Saturday with a team total of 641 points at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium in Dallas.

The Green Wave's successful weekend was capped off by junior Lilly Byrne earning the Most Outstanding Swimmer award after her stellar performance over the last four days.

Lilly Byrne kicked off the night for the Green Wave by adding a silver medal to her trophy case by coming in at a time of 16:34.19. Bryne won three individual medals and one team medal in her AAC outing.

Danielle Titus and Gianna Spremullo went one and two in the women's 200 backstroke final, as Titus claimed first place with a time of 1:57.10, setting a career-best and a new school record. Spremullo recorded a well-deserved runner-up finish in 1:57.14, also grabbing a career-best time.

Christiana Williams gathered the silver medal with a 2:13.14 in the 200 breaststroke finals, earning her second individual medal of the meet.

In platform diving, Paige McKenzie set a career-best and secured a new program record with her 226.50 points.
