Aldrianna Dupree Takes the Podium on Day One of the Louisiana Classic

LAFAYETTE, La - Aldrianna Dupree headlined the first day of the 2022 Louisiana Classic by placing third in the 200-meter dash inside the Cajuns Track Facility at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Dupree crossed the finish line at 24.57, just 0.04 seconds behind the sprinter from Southern. Kyah Loyd would come in at eighth with a time of 24. 67.
In the women's discus throw, Maren Butler would come in eighth for the Green Wave throwing 42.75m. Teammates Melisa Toilolo, Norah Bice and Emma Simons would place 19th, 21st and 35th with their respective throws.
In the javelin throw Tulane would see both Patricija Ozolina and Margot Temines place in the top ten with scores of 39.43 (ninth) and 36.89 (10th), respectively. In 11th was Bice with 34.40m and in 12th Kara Schiek who threw for 33.29m. Butler would finish 19th (28.36) while Kaia Todd would take 23rd (12.54m).
The Wave continues action tomorrow with the field events starting at 10:00 a.m. and the running events starting at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
