Tulane Grabs Two Wins in Afternoon Doubleheader

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's tennis team grabbed wins versus Nicholls and New Orleans University on Wednesday afternoon at the City Park Tennis Center. The Green Wave took Nicholls 4-1 and swept UNO.

Tulane improves to 7-6 on the season with the two wins.

The duos of Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell, Adelaide Lavery and Jiayun Zhu and Kristen Borland and Cora Barber got Tulane off to a hot start giving the Green Wave the doubles point against Nicholls. In singles play, Russell was the first to get a singles point, followed by Yelamanchili. Brooke Theis's victory clinched the fourth point giving Tulane the win over Nicholls.

Pairing up again Yelamanchili and Russell, Lavery and Zhu and Borland and Barber got Tulane the double point in the second match of the day against UNO. Russell would once again get the first singles point, getting things rolling, followed by Zhu and Borland who clinched the match for the Wave with her victory.

Up next, Tulane will host North Texas on Saturday, March 26 at City Park Tennis Center. Play is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
